The Port of Bremerton has hired Jeremiah Wiley as its new Chief Financial Officer. Wiley brings with him 20 years of experience in accounting and finance and will use his communication, problem-solving, and technical abilities to drive the Port to further and sustained success.
Wiley was previously a Controller for Capital Development Company and has also worked for Pope Resources and Housing Kitsap. He graduated from the University of Washington, Tacoma, is a Certified Public Accountant. Wiley completed the Leadership Kitsap course in 2013 and previously served on the Bremerton Parks Commission.
“We’re so thrilled to add Jeremiah to our team. His experience and skills will be a great asset to the Port as we continue to build up the community and bring more family-wage jobs to the area,” Port CEO Jim Rothlin said. “We’re excited to get him up to speed on all that we have happening this coming year, most importantly, our capital projects such as the Port Orchard marina breakwater, Bremerton Marina’s parking, and the new restaurant facility at the airport.”
As Port CFO, Wiley will ensure a comprehensive financial approach in all areas. He will also be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Port’s finance, accounting, human resource, risk management, and other related functions while also serving as the Port Auditor and Treasurer.
The Port of Bremerton comprises Olympic View Industrial Business Park, Bremerton Marina, Port Orchard Marina, Bremerton National Airport, and various piers, parks, and boat launches. In recognition of the businesses brought in and jobs created, the Port was awarded Job Creator of the Year by the Washington Public Ports Association in 2021.
